Hello! I'm Brandee, the baker and cake artist behind Many Layers Cake Shop. One of my earliest memories is standing on a chair in the kitchen, carefully swirling chocolate batter into vanilla to make a marble cake for my fifth birthday. That swirl sparked a lifelong love of baking, and of creating things that bring people joy. I’ve spent years honing my craft, blending artistic vision with flavor, and turning simple ingredients into something meaningful and beautiful.

Many Layers was born during the pandemic, in a time when I needed a new creative escape. I began baking just for fun, sharing cakes with family and friends to brighten our days. Then people started asking if they could order one. And then more people. Before I knew it, what began as a personal challenge turned into a joyful business built on connection, celebration, and a whole lot of butter and sugar.

I love creating cakes that tell a story; when a client shares a memory or meaningful detail, and I get to turn it into something beautiful and edible. Like the cake that looked just like an old-fashioned ice cream sundae for a couple celebrating 40 years of marriage (their first date had been at an ice cream shop!), or the one with a hand-painted WWII airplane for a retired pilot that brought a tear to his eye. Those moments are why I do this.

Making cakes for larger events, especially weddings, is one of the most creatively fulfilling parts of my work. A multi-tiered cake offers a larger canvas to tell a story and bring a creative vision to life. I love working with couples to design something that reflects their unique love, whether that means a fun, quirky design full of personality, or a classic, elegant cake that feels timeless. It’s a joy and an honor to create something so central to such a meaningful day—something that will be remembered, photographed, and shared for years to come.
